Introduction
Pain of any sort can range from mild to severe, and may be temporary (such as related to a sports injury) or chronic (such as arthritis). It can also be a short-term annoyance that goes away quickly, or completely debilitating and disruptive. The good news is that there are many different types of products available which can help ease your discomfort and get you back to enjoying your life, whatever type of pain you may be experiencing. In this blog, we’ll specifically look at back pain, joint, arthritis, and muscle pain, headaches and migraines, period pain, and oral pain.
Back pain
Back pain is fairly common, and it can be caused by a variety of things such as sports injuries, straining to lift something too heavy, or even sleeping in an unusual position. Unfortunately, back injuries, as well as back pain more generally, can have a major impact on your daily life, so management of this condition, whether temporary or longer term, is incredibly important.
For short term relief of mild to moderate back pain, we carry common pain-relief tablets such as Ibuprofen and Paracetamol.
You may also find it helpful to soak in a warm bath with epsom salts, which might ease your back pain to some extent.
Additionally, we carry products such as Deep Heat Heat Rub Pain Relief Cream, which is a non-greasy cream that helps provide targeted, warming relief. We also stock Voltarol Back & Muscle Pain Relief Gel, which cools and soothes pain.
If you prefer a spray product instead of a gel or cream, Biofreeze Spray may help ease your discomfort.
You may also find it helpful to try something like the Salonpas Pain Relief Patch, which is a medicated plaster specially designed for joint and muscle pain, or Belladonna Plasters, which are similar.

Joint, arthritis, and muscle pain
Joint, arthritis, and muscle pain can be the result of an injury which needs time to heal, or they can be chronic pain which needs to be managed appropriately. Either way, we stock a variety of products which will help you to get back to doing the things you love with ease and comfort.
As with back pain, we recommend trying common pain-relief tablets such as Ibuprofen and Paracetamol, particularly if your pain is mild to moderate.
We carry a specialised gel which is designed to ease painful and stiff joints caused by arthritis. Flexiseq Max Strength for Osteoarthritis Gel helps to improve joint function, making movement easier and less painful. It’s ideal for knees, shoulders, hips, wrists, ankles, and fingers.
You may also find it helpful to add a daily supplement to your diet, such as Valupak Glucosamine & Chondroitin Tablets. These tablets can help support your joints and tissues, and they are especially popular for those suffering from arthritis, particularly in their knees. An alternative, similar option is Vitabiotics Jointace Original Tablets.
Many of the products which can help with back pain (a topic we cover above) may also help with joint, arthritis, and muscle pain, such as gels and creams for pain relief, medicated plasters, and epsom salts for a warm soak in the bath.

Headaches and migraines
Headaches and migraines can be incredibly debilitating, whether they’re occasional or chronic. We recommend stocking up on common relief aids, so that you have them whenever you need, as headaches can appear spontaneously for many reasons.
You should seek advice from your doctor if you frequently experience severe headaches or migraines, as this could be a sign of a more serious condition. |
Common pain-relief tablets such as Ibuprofen and Paracetamol may help with mild to moderate headaches, but we also carry stronger products for severe headaches or migraines.
Some specialty products we carry that are specifically designed for headaches and migraines include Anadin Extra tablets, which contain a combination of aspirin, paracetamol, and caffeine for effective pain relief. We also stock the 4head Headache and Migraine Relief stick, which is designed to be applied directly to your head at the point of pain, as well as 4head QuickStrips, which are hydro-gel patches formulated to provide cooling relief.
If you are looking for a more holistic approach, you may find Bio-Kult Migrea capsules helpful. These capsules are a dietary supplement formulated to help people who experience migraines, and they contain a combination of probiotic bacteria strains and other ingredients known for their potential migraine-relief properties.
If you’re experiencing a headache or migraine, it may be helpful for you to avoid screentime, such as computers, the telly, or your phone. If you can, seek out a dark or dimly lit area and try to take a rest. It’s also important to monitor your intake of caffeine, as too much can contribute to headaches.

Period pain
Regular period pain affects many women every month, and it can range from mildly bothersome to debilitating.
If you find that your period pain is often debilitating, you should speak with your doctor or gynaecologist for further advice and to rule out more serious conditions. |
For many women, taking a common pain-relief product such as Ibuprofen or Paracetamol may provide enough relief, although we do also carry stronger products for those who need them.
While curling up at home with a heating pad or hot water bottle may be helpful for some women who experience cramping, if you have to be on the go then we recommend trying Cura Heat Pain Relief Patches. These patches are applied over the top of your underwear or clothing to the source of pain. They produce air-activated heat and provide up to 12 hours of relief.

Oral pain
Oral pain is pain associated with your mouth, such as in your gums or teeth. Typically, if you experience oral pain, you should speak with your dentist for further advice and to rule out more serious conditions.
If you experience recurrent mouth ulcers or have denture irritation, one product we recommend is Anbesol Adult Strength Oral Pain Relief Gel, which offers temporary numbing and soothing effects. This product will also help with a toothache.
Orajel Extra Strength is another gel which can provide temporary oral pain relief, particularly if you are experiencing a toothache or mouth ulcers.
If you’re suffering from gum disease such as gingivitis, you may find it helpful to use a product such as Corsodyl 0.2% Mouthwash, which is alcohol-free and comes in a mint flavour. We also stock Oraldene Mouthwash, which provides medicated relief for mouth and throat infections. It’s antibacterial and helps to relieve gingivitis, mouth ulcers, sore or bleeding gums, bad breath, and sore throat.
If you have an infant suffering from teething pains, Anbesol Teething Gel and Ashton & Parsons Teething Gel are both products which may help relieve your baby’s discomfort.
