Wegovy is intended for adults with a BMI over 30, or a BMI over 27 with weight-related health conditions such as prediabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart problems. Our clinicians and pharmacy team will determine if you are eligible to take Wegovy after filling in our simple, online consultation form. You should not use Wegovy if you are pregnant and should stop treatment at least two months before trying to conceive. If you become pregnant while taking Wegovy, stop using it immediately and consult with your GP or midwife.

Wegovy takes some time to aid weight loss and does not work instantly. Results from Wegovy’s treatment typically begin to show between 4-12 weeks.

Both Wegovy and Ozempic can be prescribed for weight-loss. They contain the same active ingredient semaglutide and are made by the same manufacturer; however, Wegovy is licensed for weight-loss, through an injection taken once a week. Ozempic is used to treat people with Type 2 diabetes. Limited supplies mean that Ozempic should be prioritised for patients with this condition.
