Polytar Scalp Shampoo 150ml Is a medicated scalp cleanser containing Coal Tar blend for the treatment of scaling scalp disorders including seborrhoeic dermatitis, psoriasis and dandruff.

Polytar is based on the ingredient coal tar, which reduces itching and acts as a mild antiseptic. It also acts as a keratolytic agent - that is, it breaks down keratin.

Keratin is a protein that forms part of the skin structure and can cause thickening of the skin when in excess.  

Keratolytic agents, such as coal tar, therefore help to reduce the excessive hardening, thickening and scaling of the skin.

How to Use Use as described in the leaflet or as directed by your pharmacist or doctor. Polytar Scalp Shampoo should be used once or twice a week. 

• Wet the hair and massage into the scalp and surrounding skin. 
• Rinse thoroughly and repeat. 
• The total leave on time for the shampoo should be 3-5 minutes.
